Nocturne 1 and 2
Multimedia French artist Martin Levêque, currently living in CDMX
Installation, cinematic experiences
Martin Levêque is a visual and multimedia French artist, currently working in CDMX, México. His colorblind anomaly contributed to his fascination for illusion. In his work, Levêque aims to create surprising responses on the visitors by offering a moment that breaks the walls imposed by daily life. This experience is a quest to achieve illusion, making the impossible now seem possible. Through his art, Levêque challenges the traditional tools in the analog arts by carefully choosing his materials: he tries to use natural materials and give objects a second life as pieces of art.
About AWE Parenthesis of a night walk in the CDMX
With more than 2 million people contributing daily to formalize the improvised, the city of Mexico has become a stainless steel jungle. At night, the food stalls look fascinating and terrifying at the same time, the lights of the patrols are trapped in their bosom and interpret an ephemeral ballet that will never be reproduced with the same choreography. In the middle of a dark environment with dim lights that remind us that violence is never far away, we are hypnotized by a surreal moment that moves us as a spectator of a dream show.
