The masterful and fluent curatorship of the Circle Of Live collective has gathered noted artists from the club, connecting their live performances in intense collaborative sessions: a deep dive into the physicality of House and Techno, performed live, as an ode to nightlife, with long sets filled with unexpected moments of beauty and discovery. For the 16th Edition, Circle Of Live brings us Dorisburg, Frank Wiedemann (Âme live), Mathew Jonson & Sebastian Mullaert together for live jam collaborations, improvisation and solo explorations – all night long.
Dorisburg (SE): In little more than five years of trajectory, Alexander Berg aka Dorisburg has been a constant in European Techno, with a catalogue that includes 10 EPs, one album and celebrated sessions behind the turntables. Throughout this period, he has created a distinctive sound, filled with silky textures, with a careful and elegant incorporation of instrumental details and smooth and enveloping rhythms.
Frank Wiedemann (Âme Live) (DE): With a trajectory characterized by always firmly looking to the future, the me duo has become one of the icons of the club sound coming from Europe, keeping their unusual freshness for more than 15 years in the field of House and Techno. Collaborations, experimentation and honest openness by incorporating with finesse a broad variety of genres have made the bond between Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer one of the most prolific in dance floor history.
Mathew Jonson (CA): Responsible for some of the most inspiring anthems of the past decade in the Canadian club circuit and co-founder of the Wagon Repair record label, Mathew Jonson seeks to expand the boundaries of genres like House or Techno, many times assisted by Jazz basslines, not only with his live sets using analogue gear, but also as part of the groups Cobblestone Jazz and The Modern Deep Left Quartet.
Sebastian Mullaert (SE): Sebastian Mullaert has traced a very particular trajectory within the European circuit by taking his creative philosophy (based on Meditation and the meeting point between nature, quietness and creativity) to his studio work, live performance and constant collaboration both under his own name and as half of cult techno duo Minilogue. His music released on labels like Hypnus, Mule Musiq and Kontra Musik, takes us to that unique moment in which the body, mind and spirit melt through rhythm and texture: from Zen Techno to Hypnotic Ambient.
