TJ Hertz is the name behind OBJEKT, a project that he himself describes as his own adventures in machine music designed to make subwoofers tremble and wiggle feet. Hertz was born in the United Kingdom, but he lives in Berlin, where he has combined his work as a programmer at Native Instruments with his experiments with audio, until he managed to develop a unique sound, and felt ready to make his first tracks known to the world of something he has called “a mess of 3-step, bass-core, post-windmill, proto-minimal wankstep, shithouse, acid wonk…”, which sound like some sort of dynamic, atmospheric and sharp techno that will make the dancefloor spark during our next edition. “Ganzfeld”, one of his most recent singles, became part of Hypnagogia, a 12” that was published together with Dopplereffekt, which was said to be a child of mutual inspiration. A new release is programmed to come out this autumn as part of PAN label. Objekt is visiting Mutek.mx as a result of our collaboration with Berlin Current.
