RROXYMORE

RROXYMORE

In the summer of 2012, Hermione Frank, by means of a memorable tune lasting a bit more than 10 minutes (“Wheel of Fortune”, the B-side of “Patriarchy Over & Out”, a single that was published by Planningtorock at DFA Records), officially disclosed rROXYMORE, the personality under which since then she has been releasing her very own vision of what dance music is. Human Level, Planningtorock’s record label, was the one she chose last year to publish her first actual EP: Precarious/Precious, which immediately found listeners worldwide, thanks to its’ exciting hypnotic synth lines, unexpected appearances of accoustic intruments, and altered rythms, all of which are dirtily -at first glance, crudely- arranged, but do give the whole thing a psychedelic aura that has enchanted every place it has touched. This year, rROXYMORE changed her label to Huntleys + Palmers (the ones responsible of editing emerging talents with a more than promising future, such as Auntie Flo, Alejandro Paz, SOPHIE…), under which she published “Ministry of Silly Talks” as part of a small compilation. It’s rumored that, when performing live, she is capable of opening transdimensional doors with nothing more that her synthesizers.
